Nick + Jessie {Maternity Love} Chicago, Illinois

We first met Nick and Jessie back in 2015. They were tying the knot here in South Bend, and we were the lucky photographers they picked to photograph their wedding! Which is always incredibly humbling!

It turned out to be the perfect day, as they said “I Do”, surrounded by their amazing friends and family … and it’s one of those weddings that we will ALWAYS remember! We not only had a blast, but we made some life long friends along the way. :) And if you’d like to check out their big day, we blogged about it … RIGHT HERE!

So fast forward a few years … September, 2018 … we were super stoked to learn that a little Fenton would be running around very soon, so it was a privilege when they contacted us about doing a maternity session! We jumped at the chance to adventure to a cute little neighborhood in Chicago, where this beautiful couple calls home! They’re not only sweet, kind, and SUPER good looking, but they’re also incredibly successful in the “Windy City”! But they’re the most modest people you’ll ever meet, so you won’t hear that from them … so we just have to give them a shoutout on all their hard work!!! You go girl … and boy. ;)

Ok, ok … back to that beautiful morning in September … we first ventured to the Gethsemane Garden Center, where we found the prettiest flowers and plants, and where we laughed … a lot! These two have such genuine joy; it’s contagious! And their sweet love … it’s something to strive for, and these two exude so much love for each other!

After our hilarious venture at the greenhouse, we went back to their beautiful little home, where we met their sweet pup, Kosar! And had even more laughs! And … we got to see their beautiful space where they’ve made their home, a HOME. Many of the things you see in their amazing space, Nick made! He’s quite the talented woodworking artist!

There is no mistake about it … these two are going to be the BEST parents and we are so darn thankful our paths crossed in 2015. We’ve shared in some amazing moments with them over the years, and we can’t wait for what the future holds. Congratulations beautiful souls. We adore you so much!

Chicago Engagement Session | Laura & Brian

I met up with Laura, Brian, and their sweet girl, Dottie, in their adorable apartment in the city for their sweet Chicago engagement. We roamed around the neighborhood, hit up the beach, Laura's work rooftop that overlooks the beautiful Chicago skyline, and ended at the very bar Laura and Brian first met!

These two are so sweet and I had such a great time getting to know them! Can't wait for their Chicago wedding this Ocotber!

Chris & Catherine | Arranmore Farm + Polo Club

I met Chris and Catherine officially, a few weeks ago, at the gorgeous Arranmore Farm + Polo Club in Oswego, Illinois. I've been chatting with them for a few months now, as they prepare for their wedding day in March of next year. We connected via Instagram and we immediately became fast friends.

When we met for their engagement session, it was like connecting with old friends. We had such a wonderful time, venturing around the farm and these two ... well, you can certainly, undoubtedly feel the love. Grateful our paths crossed and super thankful we get to share in their big day!!!

The best kind of love is when you can see the soul in each other’s eyes. When you touch, the butterflies come rushing back into your stomach, and for a single moment, you think, “I don’t think I could feel anymore loved right now”. Real love reminds us that there will always be hard days, but with someone standing by your side, who loves you fully, nothing is impossible.

Starved Rock Adventure Session | Halie & Tyler

Halie and Tyler answered our Starved Rock model call a couple months back. They were a perfect fit for what we were looking for! They are adventurous and fun and take a beautiful photo!

I met up with them at Starved Rock State Park in Oglesby, IL at the beginning of June. These two came all the way from Newaygo, MI!  It was such a HOT and humid day but these two hiked with me for a couple of hours and were such troopers! It was so great to get to know Halie and Tyler. Their love for each other was so sweet and they made my job that much easier!

Congrats to this wonderful couple on their recent engagemnt!!

Alex & Gina | The Patrick Haley Mansion

Alex and Gina first met in college. They both attended The University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana, and over the next four years, they became the best of friends. They even studied abroad together in Rome, and decided in their senior year of college that there was something more than a friendship.

Fast forward to November 6th, 2016. That's when we first met Alex and Gina. He surprised the love of his life with the most romantic proposal, EVER! And we were privileged to be a part of the surprise! CLICK HERE to check out how it all began ... and then be sure to come back here to check out their gorgeous wedding day! :)

Alex and Gina were married on January 13th, 2018 in Gina's hometown, Joliet, Illinois. It was a beautiful winter day and they married at the beautiful St. Joesph Catholic Church in Downtown Joliet. It was the kind of church that reminds you of the cathedrals in Europe. When you walk in, you're taken to another place; It truly was breathtaking.

The reception was held at The Patrick Haley Mansion. It is one of the most beautiful venues; it's full of such nostalgia and wonderful details. Not to mention the staff were incredibly kind, and awesome to work alongside of.

There were many beautiful details that Gina and Alex included in this beautiful celebration, that highlighted not only their time together, but also Gina's Italian heritage.

They chose the black beauty rose as their main flower, to pay tribute to Gina's late grandmother. She also wrapped her grandmother's rosary around the bouquet, which is an Italian tradition.

Once you get down to the reception photos, you'll see a beautiful, amazing tower of cannoli, and small cake, which when we saw that, I'm pretty sure my sister and I (and maybe everyone there) said "Holy Cannoli"! HAHA, but really. It was an amazing and creative take on a traditional wedding cake. The small cake that sat on top of the tower read: “Ti amo da qui ... alla fine del mondo ... di nuove qui ... all infinito”, which translates to: “I love you from here ... to the end of the world ... here again ... to infinity”. Both Gina and Alex studied in Rome, and while there, they came across graffiti along the Tiber River, which had this beautiful quote. We love that they included this on their beautiful day.

When it was time for Alex and Gina to dance their first dance, as husband and wife, Gina's dad, Mike and four of her cousins played "Pistol" by Dustin Kensrue. It was so beautifully played and wow! They are quite the musicians! And for the father/daughter dance, Gina and Mike choreographed the most epic dance and they absolutely killed it!

EVERYONE got on the dance floor during the Tarantella, which is a beautiful, Italian folk-dance! It got the dance party lifted off with a bang! Which brings us to the amazing entertainment for the evening ... The Walk-ins! These guys were so incredibly talented, entertaining and so kind! We loved working with them and hope that our paths cross again.

We cannot say enough good things about this special day, and these special people. Some of the kindest souls you could ever meet. Congratulations Alex and Gina! We are so humbled to have been able to be a part of your amazing day!
