Erin & Hannah {Fisherman's Island} Charlevoix, Michigan

It was in August when my sister Erin’s girlfriend Hannah pulled me aside at one of our hang outs, to tell me she had plans to propose to my sister. She asked for my blessing, and I was overwhelmed with gratitude that she would ask me. Such a question is humbling, and it just shows the kind of woman Hannah is … ❤️

But it wasn’t until the end of September that she popped the big question, and I jumped at the chance to be there, alongside of them both, for one of the biggest moments of their lives.

She decided to propose at their favorite spot, on the beach at Fisherman's Island, in Charlevoix, Michigan. The weather was quite questionable when I got there, but the winds calmed, and as they danced to their favorite song, the sun started to peak from behind the clouds ... Hannah got down on one knee and made my sister the happiest girl in the world.

It was an honor to be there, for such a beautiful moment, and I’m so incredibly grateful that these two found each other in this crazy world. Love is truly, all you need to change the world. And I think these two can change it with how fiercely they love each other!

Congratulations Erin and Hannah. May you continue to set each other's souls on fire. ❤️

Camping Adventures, 2017 {Personal}

Every year, well, mostly every year, our family gets together for a camping adventure, that winds up being cold, rainy and some of the MOST fun we have together! We're kinda' silly. Maybe a little crazy. But we really enjoy our time, and there are always MANY laughs! And they're the good ones. The real deep belly laughs that drown out all the outside woes, at least for a few days. :)

We typically camp at Pokagon State Park, in Angola, Indiana, on Halloween weekend. The campground hosts many fun events for kids - and adults, including trick-or-treating through the campsites! The kiddos - and our sister's husband - dressed up for the festivities, and we enjoyed meeting new folks along the way! (make sure you check out those costumes below! ;) They're good ones!!) Not to mention, the fall colors were absolutely perfect this year!

We are always so grateful for these days, as they don't happen as often as we'd like. But despite the weather, and the distance that sometimes separates us, the adventure always keeps calling us back together, and these new moments sustain us, when we must part ways, until we all are able to meet again.

John & Kate {Journeyman Distillery} Three Oaks, Michigan

Kate was a general manager at a bar in Chicago, where a repeat customer insisted she let them set her up on a blind date. Kate went crazy as they pressed, and eventually John himself waltz right in and asked her to go on "run" sometime. This first date "run" eventually lead to a night of fun, street festivals, and love!

After six years of dating, Kate was convinced that John and her were never going to get married. In fact, he went on a whole "anti-marriage" kick nearly a month before he proposed. But all that didn't matter one night on Paw Paw lake, where he insisted that, even after an entire day on the lake, he wanted to take the boat out. Kate, on the other hand, just wanted to relax and chill.

In the middle of a lake, swaying to her favorite Pearl Jam song and dressed down to a sweatshirt and sweatpants, she felt a hand on her waist and turned to see John down on one knee! He said the sweetest thing and of course she said yes! Talk about relationship goals!

Their wedding day was absolutely beautiful! The tiny details really helped pull everything together into an unforgetable experience for both guests and the bride and groom

We couldn't be more happy that John and Kate let us capture this special day for them. We absolutely adore being able to capture weddings for couples. It is such an important and special part of someone's life, and we feel amazing knowing that they trust us to capture it! We wish John and Kate nothing but the best in the rest of their forever!

Jeda Parchman {Class of 2017}

I met Jeda back in April. It was a cool, spring day and we ventured to a couple beautiful spots around South Bend to capture the gorgeous young lady she is!

Our first stop was downtown South Bend, and then the gorgeous Tippecanoe Place! They both were a perfect backdrop for this sweet young lady!

Our last stop was probably my favorite! We adventured onto St. Mary's College's campus, where everything was just starting to bloom. Which I guess you could say is symbolic for a young lady beginning her senior year ... new things on the horizon, and it's only just begun. Congratulations Jeda! You are a beauty. Inside and out!

Thomas Hunter {Class of 2018} Marcellus, Michigan

Ok. So we have to brag about this guy. First, he's a handsome fella. But more so, he is SO KIND. And incredibly genuine.

We ventured to Marcellus, Michigan, to the place he calls home, to photograph his senior session. Just a week after this session, he left for Boot Camp, where he completed basic training, BEFORE he began his senior year of high school! Amazing, right?! We thought so too!

It was the day of his prom too, so we of course had to do a few in his tuxedo! ;)

Grateful to have met such a kind young man! Many congrats Thomas, for all your amazing accomplishments already! You are destined for GREAT things.
